General Information

The Physical Metallurgy and Materials Science Conference is traditionally held in Poland every three years as a periodic event of the Federation of European Material Society and Polish Material Society and Committee of Metallurgy of the Polish Academy of Sciences and  Committee of Materials Science of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

The first conference was held in 1953, since then, 18 conferences on materials science have been held. The scope of the conference has been expanded to include intermetallics, ceramics, polymers, composites, bringing together researches in these fields from around the world.

Till now, namely, participants from USA, Australia, Germany, Czech Republic, Austria, Slovak Republic, Mexico, Israel, Russia, France, Great Britain, China Republic, Spain had took part at the conference.

AMT is focused on advances in materials processing, particularly on fundamental aspects of the relationship between chemical composition, structure; nano- micro- meso-scale, of bulk and surface and properties of materials, and on the technological processes which produce the structure and properties desired. Characterization and modeling of microstructure as well as application are also in the scope of the conference interest.

Approximately 250-300 attendees participate at the AMT conference and the place of the conference is selected very precisely at the districts famous from the polish folk tradition. The XIX AMT will be held in Zakopane at the foot of the Tatra Mountains.

The conference language of the AMT 2010 is English
