As I supposed the carrier lifetime studies did not fare well. Any slightest modification affects the results. The results do not coincide in the series. Any defects present in the wafers or other grains distribution significantly change the lifetime. Also each mixture etch the silicon wafer in the different way - different surface morphology and thickness of eatched layer. Too many variables force to simplify the experiment. In the next step monocrystalline silicon will be used.

This month was full of writing work. I prepared two abstracts for the conferences. The first one was etitled “Alginate and poly-L-lysine modified capsules as human cardiac stem cells delivery system for myocardial regeneration” and was submitted on European Society for Artificial Organs conference. The second abstract is a summary of a few months research work on differentiation of human Mesenchymal Stem Cells into endothelium in order to tissue reconstruction of acellular scaffold and was submitted on The Flow Cytometry and Immunopathology conference. However there was also time for a fun in the lab. A first samples for cross-linking experiments with the genipin were prepared and the results of the Impact R test were analyzed.

My activities in March:

During this month I have read book entitled "Corrosion resistance of aluminium and magnesium alloys written by E. Ghali. Based on the literature review I have choosen the enviroment for the corrosion measurements - HBSS (Hank's Balanced Salt Solution) and the first method - immersion test based on mass changes.

Things done in March, Glowinski

In March I've been preparing a lot of stuff for
a paper on characterization of mixed boundaries.
This includes some calculations, graphs and other pictures.
Somewhat by an accident I've found a method
to speed up my calculations. In the computations, each
small triangular boundary segment is processed.
However, imagine a couple of segments of very similar parameters that
constitute a fragment of a boundary. They can be replaced
by one segment and our results won't be worse. We used
a QSlim program for this purpose.
